HAVFRUEN is a seafood bistro, located in the historic, charming and lively area of Nyhavn in central Copenhagen. It has been a restaurant since 1937 and the building is from the 16th century. With a new owner and interior, the place was lacking a podium to function as a service station for the staff. For the owner, it was important that the service station matched the existing decor, could withstand wear and tear and was made within a given budget. To provide the custom made piece of furniture, Studio Rebecca Norberg collaborated with Megan Blake, a spatial- and furniture designer specialised in woodwork. The result is a practical station made from plywood that has been treated with a stain and varnish. The detailing gives the piece a more authentic look and lets it blend in with the rest of the exterior.
