COMMUNITY, RESTORATION, LEARNING BY DOING
A workshop space enabling residents to work with their hands.
GJK WORKSHOP is a creative workshop space located at the student dorm Grønjordskollegiet in Copenhagen. The workshop has existed since the establishing of the dorm in the 70's but was found in bad shape as it has not been used in the recent past. Studio Rebecca Norberg and a group of residents re-fitted the space, bought new tools and held a number of workshops in order to establish a new and current crafts community.
The space now includes sections for woodworking, painting, ceramics, sewing and basic metal work. The spaces offers the residents a place to up-cycle and fix furniture (or other belongings) as well as working with the hands as a way of relaxing after studying.
