COMMON SPACE
BUILDING A LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER COMMUNITY
COMMON SPACE is a project defining a new typology of space known as "common space". A common space can be a public or private space (such as a third place) where people meet and make something together. (The concept is similar to that of the commons.) The project started out as a mapping and analysing of existing common spaces together with SHARING.LAB. The data gathered now forms a framework for how to catalogue existing places, such as co-working spaces, workshop spaces and public indoor spaces, and gives insight into how to build, develop and run a common space. The idea is to put this information to use by starting a new common space focused on sustainability. The project is done in collaboration with Elisa Katriona and industry partners.
